The Art of the Bath: Why Green Tea and Colloidal Oatmeal Make the Perfect Soak

There is something wonderfully comforting about stepping into a warm bath at the end of a long day. The warmth, the stillness, gentle fragrance filling the room - it is a simple ritual, but one that can turn an ordinary evening into a few precious moments of calm. At Aigelle, we believe that bath time should be more than simply getting clean. It can be a chance to slow down, relax and reconnect with yourself and give your skin a little extra care too. Our green tea and colloidal oatmeal bath brew bags were created with exactly this kind of ritual in mind. A beautiful blend of natures gentle ingredients. Each bath brew bag is carefully handcrafted in small batches and filled with a thoughtfully selected blend of mineral salts, colloidal oatmeal and green tea, finished with the delicate aroma of pure frankincense essential oil. The ingredients work beautifully together to create a comforting, soothing bath time experience. The gentle goodness of colloidal oatmeal Colloidal oatmeal has long been valued in skincare for its comforting and moisturising properties. Unlike ordinary oatmeal, colloidal oatmeal is finely milled so that it disperses through the bath water, allowing it to come into gentle contact with the skin. Colloidal oatmeal contains naturally occurring starches and beta-glucan , which can help the skin retain moisture and support its protective barrier. It is particularly appreciated in skincare for helping skin feel soft, comfortable and moisturised. This makes colloidal oatmeal a beautiful ingredient for a relaxing bath , when your skin is feeling dry or simply in need of some extra softness. Green tea: a botanical boost Green tea isn’t just lovely in your favourite cup. Green tea is naturally rich in antioxidants, which is one reason this beautiful botanical has become such a popular ingredient in skincare. In our bath brew, green tea brings a fresh element to the blend, complementing the gentle nature nature of the colloidal oatmeal and creating a beautifully simple, plant inspired bathing ritual. Mineral salts for a relaxing soak Mineral salts are a classic addition to a relaxing bath. Our bath brew contains Epsom salt and sea salt, helping to create a luxurious mineral soak. Combined with warm water, the gentle aroma of frankincense and the silky feel of colloidal oatmeal, the result is a bath that feels wonderfully indulgent without being complicated. And then there’s frankincense..... Frankincense has a distinctive aroma - warm, resinous and earthy. We've chosen pure frankincense essential oil to add a peaceful, grounding, delicate fragrance to your bath time. Light a candle, put your phone somewhere out of reach, lower the lights, and let the gentle aroma become part of your evening ritual. Self care does not need to be elaborate, sometimes it's simply 20 minutes of uninterrupted quiet. Your bath, brewed like tea One of my favourite things about our bath brew bags is how simple they are to use. The reusable muslin bag, works like a giant tea bag, for your bath. Simply place it beneath warm running water and allow the ingredients to steep, as the bag infuses, gently squeeze it from time to time, to release the goodness into your bath. Then carefully climb in, settle back and let yourself unwind. After your bath, simply empty the contents into your compost, or waste bin, rinse the muslin bag and leave it to dry, ready for another use. No loose petals floating around the bath. No powder to clean up afterwards. Just a beautiful simple bath ritual. A little reminder to slow down We often think of self care as something we have to schedule, buy or make time for. But sometimes self care can be wonderfully simple. A warm bath. A beautiful botanical aroma. Soft towels. A candle flickering nearby. And 20 minutes where nobody needs anything from you. Our green tea and colloidal oatmeal bath brew bags were created for those moments - when you want to step away from the noise of everyday life and create a little space for yourself. Slow down, soak, breath, enjoy!
